Our Counselling Service

The lowdown offers a free and confidential counselling service for 12 – 25 year olds. The type of Counselling we provide is 'person centred'. This means we won't judge you or tell you what to do. You can see the same counsellor each week, until you no longer need to attend. You can talk to your Counsellor about anything at all that is on your mind or is preventing you living your life the way you would choose to. Counselling is a way of listening and supporting you to work through your situation.

How to access

You can drop-in, make an appointment or have someone make an appointment on your behalf. The first session is an information session with a counsellor, where we will explain all about the service and answer any questions you may have. A one off session or ongoing weekly appointments with a fully trained counsellor can then be booked.

How counselling can help

Studies have shown that it is beneficial to talk to someone not involved in your situation, especially when that person is a trained counsellor. Our counsellors can help you explore the solutions you require.
