the lowdown - supporting young people

Pregnancy

As well as the physical changes to the expectant mother’s body, there are emotional, hormonal and practical changes too. This can make planned or unplanned pregnancy both exciting and worrying for the expectant mother and her partner. The practical changes can affect relationships, families, living arrangements, social activities, finances and well being.

You are not alone

As we’re all different, how we handle our own or our partner’s pregnancy will be different. There is no right or wrong way to feel about the pregnancy; however it is important to remember that both mother and partner will need support. There is lots of help, information and support available for you.

How the lowdown can help

You can contact us for free and confidential counselling, information and advice on this or any other issue. Whether you’d like to discuss your own or someone else’s pregnancy, have a pregnancy test, discuss options and talk about next steps or talk about how to cope with pregnancy, our counsellors and nurses are fully trained and are here to listen and help. You can drop-in, make an appointment or call us for counselling or to chat about your situation.
