Our sexual health service

The lowdown's sexual health service is free and confidential. According to the Northamptonshire NHS, in 2009 the lowdown remained the largest distributor of condoms to young people within the county.

• Referrals for other sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing and treatments
• Pregnancy testing and next steps
• Nurse
• Emergency contraception
• Ongoing oral contraception
• Relationship counselling or advice
• Information leaflets and packs
• Condoms
• Condom card (C-Card)

How to access

You can drop-in, make an appointment or have someone make an appointment on your behalf. However you choose to access us, we will always give you the best support we can, whichever of the following ways you choose to receive it:

Even though we understand you may be embarrassed to talk about sexual health, please remember that we are here to help and not to judge you. the lowdown supports thousands of young people each year with sexual health issues, from practical testing to discussing your options or relationship difficulties. We provide practical help and one to one emotional support, to enable young people to make informed choices.
